This project, initiated with Optum in the summer of 2022, is a tool designed to centralize client data within Domo, enabling detailed analysis to determine whether Optum should acquire or partner with specific health systems. Given that these deals can reach billions of dollars, this tool plays a critical role in their revenue strategy.
The solution is currently live with two customers, allowing Optum to derive value from it ahead of an important renewal deadline on October 31. This successful implementation highlights the impact of our hard work and the tool's strategic importance to their operations.
Optum needed a way to send customized surveys to make the partner acquisition process more automated, organized and accurate. Their workflow at the time was spread out over different software and processes.
Our UX process kicked off with an onsite visit where we got to understand the challenges the Optum team was facing. We met with stakeholders to gather high-level requirements, dug into their pain points, and had some in-depth conversations with their engineering team about technical constraints. From there, I did a bit of competitive analysis, looking at how other companies handle survey experiences to see what was working well and where we could improve. Using those insights, I put together detailed workflows to make sure we were covering every need—both for the users and the business.
The solution
We replaced the manual process of including and excluding questions by introducing customizable 'pillar' templates, allowing for a more efficient and tailored approach.
